Most Common Plumbing Problems Homeowners Face

If you’re at home doing chores and suddenly the water running down your bathroom or kitchen sink doesn’t drain properly, or not at all, you might be experiencing the most common plumbing problems homeowners face.

Clogged bathroom or kitchen sinks and shower drains are a huge hassle for homeowners as this consumes a lot of your time to fix or repair. It is important to clear clogged drains as soon as you notice them.

You may think that this is a very difficult task, but for you to be aware of how you can solve these issues, you can follow these do-it-yourself methods on draining clogs.

First is hot water technique. For any clogs in the center of a drain opening, you can clear the debris by simply pouring hot water down the opening.

While doing this, remove as much water from the tub as possible. After that, pour the entire container of water into the tub.

If the water stays in the sink and the clog won’t move, allow some time for the water to cool and remove it to try again. This usually works on many kinds of clogs although it may take a few times to move the clog doing this procedure.

Second way is by the use of a plunger. What you can do is fill your tub or sink with a little amount of water, then place the plunger over the drain opening. Make sure that the rubber lip is flush with the surface.

Perform a fast up-and-down motion to form pressure and suction to dislodge the clog in the pipe. Once the clog is cleared, water will run smoothly down the drain and through the pipes. Stubborn clogs may need to be plunged many more times.
