Is it better to buy a grinding wheel or blade coffee grinder?

We do not usually recommend the most expensive options, but in this case we have no other choice. Coffee grinders with pinions or grinding wheels are better than those with blades.

It is proven and we can do nothing to remedy it. If you are a coffee lover and you like to grind your beans yourself, the best option is a grinder with grinding wheels. We are going to explain it to you in a simple way.

Blade coffee grinders

Blade quietest coffee grinder is cheaper, but they really aren’t the best option for getting a good coffee grind. These types of grinders repeatedly grind the coffee beans, and in the end the grind may not be completely uniform, especially with the cheaper models.

These larger coffee particles can cause clogging problems with both French and espresso machines. Any recommended model?

Difficult to find a better quietest coffee grinder right now.Good price, good build quality. It does not have a very large deposit, so we will have to be careful with how many coffee beans we put inside.

The blade and tray are made of stainless steel and the rest of the body is quite stylish black plastic (can also be found in white).

Grind coffee in seconds thanks to its 180W of power (good power). It is quiet and the security system is good. It only works if we put the lid on and then press the button. The plastic cap is kind of flimsy.

The cable measures 90cm (it is somewhat short) and a cable collector is missing to have everything more organized. It is easily cleaned with a brush and a damp cloth, but they do not include any type of brush in the package so you will have to buy it.

Grinding wheels or pinion coffee grinders

These grinders grind the grains between two grinding wheels. In some cases they are flat and in other models they are conical. One plate remains stationary, while the other rotates. The main advantage of this type of coffee grinder is that it is capable of grinding the beans to a uniform size.

This avoids clogging problems, and gives you the flexibility to grind the grains more or less coarse. For example, when using a French coffee maker, it is best to leave them “very thick”, but when using a drip coffee maker you should get a medium-sized grind.

The grinding wheel system ensures a better consistency and a better coffee aroma. The tank has a large capacity and has a safety cover. It has 17 grind levels, from fine grind to coarse grind for all types of coffee and we can select from 2 to 12 cups. It can be easily cleaned with warm soapy water and lids and containers can even be put in the dishwasher. This quietest coffee grinder, unlike other cheaper models, allows us to customize the level of fineness in the grinding and choose how many cups of coffee we need, something very useful when we are with many people.

It stops automatically when finished. Your deposit is really big. The maximum grind is very fine, which is great for espresso. It is a bit noisy.
